Why did you decide to attend UW-Madison?
I always wanted to go to school for Dairy Science, and the world-class reputation of UW-Madison was certainly alluring. It also provided me an opportunity to leave home for a time, and see what life is like away from the family farm.
What has been your most memorable college experience?
While college has been rich with a multitude of memorable experiences, I would have to say my favorite experiences have been some of the trips I’ve been on. From attending conferences across the Midwest to simple farm tours, these trips have showed me that there is a great amount that one can learn outside of the classroom.
What has been your favorite course?
Dairy Science 305- Lactation Physiology with Dr. Laura Hernandez. It was a very interesting class that covered historical, practical, and physiological aspects of milk production across a broad range of species, and included guest lectures from industry professional including dairy inspectors, human lactation consultants, and more.
What are your future career goals?
After graduation, I plan to return to my family’s dairy operation.
