Genetic Visions®, Inc. was formed in 1988 as the research arm of Accelerated Genetics®. This subsidiary corporation, wholly owned by Accelerated Genetics, is located in Middleton, Wisconsin. Genetic Visions tests DNA from cattle to identify genes influencing production traits, hair color, animal health and viability and provides commercial testing for several economic conditions to cattle producers. Also, Genetic Visions purchased equipment to conduct genotyping for genomic predictions and currently they are doing this testing for Accelerated Genetics and one breed association.

Norsvin is a Norwegian based swine genetic company. Sustainable genetic progress is ensured through an extensive genetic program, using boar testing stations, on-farm testing and extensive use of data from a national litter recording scheme. The National Pork Board has responsibility for Checkoff-funded research, promotion and consumer information projects and for communicating with pork producers and the public. Through a legislative national Pork Checkoff, pork producers invest $0.40 for each $100 value of hogs sold. The Pork Checkoff funds national and state programs in advertising, consumer information, retail and foodservice marketing, export market promotion, production improvement, technology, swine health, pork safety and environmental management.
