Graduates of the Dairy Science department complete the program with highly marketable skill sets. From on-farm dairy herd management to agribusiness to research and animal health, graduates in Dairy Science pursue diverse career options, and their talents are recognized on a global scale.
To assist in the job search process, The College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) Career Services is available to Dairy Science students for help with resumes, cover letters, career exploration and more. In addition, CALS Career Services provides access to BuckyNet - CALS online job and internship search database.
All incoming students are given a BuckyNet account and receive an initial tutorial during SOAR - UW-Madison's first year orientation program. Using BuckyNet is reinforced in CALS Career Services workshops, classes, and through student organizations. Alumni of Dairy Science can also have access to BuckyNet, but need to request an account. Accounts never expire - students, recent graduates and alumni are encouraged to maintain their profile and keep their resume current. Use BuckyNet to apply for internships and jobs, post resumes, sign up for on-campus employer interviews and much more.
Please contact CALS Career Services with questions related to full-time jobs, overall career strategy, or BuckyNet.
